New Job!

I have accepted a position at a year-old startup company as IT Lead, which is not only a positive career move, but also entails a nice raise. 🙂

I gave my two weeks’ notice today, and will start the new job on Wed, January 26th. My new boss is an old colleague of mine who left earlier in the year.

For a while now, it has felt to me like my current company is on a downward slide. Many good people have already left, and I feel like the product quality is slipping (because we don’t have enough people to do the work).

I’m excited to be joining a company that is well funded and growing. I’ll be employee #26, and they plan to have more than 40 employees in the next 3-4 months. It seems like a dynamic, smart group of people, and a great opportunity for me to learn a lot. I’m getting hired based on what I WILL learn (and how fast I can learn), rather than what I already know.

    Fabulous news! I hope it all works well. Switching jobs is always feels so good because it makes me feel like I’m actually making PROGRESS, you know?
