Change of Plans
I have exciting news and I thought I would send it in a separate message so that it doesn't get buried at the bottom: Steve and I are coming home! We're returning from our trip in June, as we had already planned, for my brothers' graduations from high school and college. As you probably know, we planned to leave again a few weeks later and continue our travels. We intended to travel to Asia again, then continue on to the rest of the world. As we've been travelling, however, we've gained a new perspective. It doesn't make so much sense to us to try to see the whole world in one fell swoop. We'd much rather have a lifetime of travelling instead of seeing it all and being "done." We've learned so much from this trip (I'm sure I'll write more about that later on), and one of the things we've learned is how much we value our friends and family. We're looking forward to reconnecting with those relationships when we return. Not to mention other things like soccer, cooking, a daily routine, and no longer dealing with the numerous minor hassles of travel (which we've adjusted to fine, but still don't like). Our plans for June and beyond are still pretty vague. We're going to start by living in Vancouver, for the summer at least, while we make more definite plans. But it's likely we'll spend a lot of time visiting Seattle as well. Our travels, while they'll be in shorter chunks, may start as soon as the fall. But, in the meantime, there's still almost a month and a half of travelling to go!
